Terms of Service

Welcome to 247ch.at. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of 247ch.at, the embeddable widget, the operator desktop app, the dashboard, and any related service (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or embedding the widget you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Who We Are
"247ch.at," "we," "us," or "our" refers to 247ch.at, an independent software service. You can reach us at the addresses listed under Contact.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. See Privacy Policy.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm other users.
4. Acceptable Use
Don't use 247ch.at to spam, harass, threaten, or harm anyone. Don't use it to host or distribute illegal content, malware, or anything that violates someone else's rights. Don't try to break into other accounts, scrape the service, or run automated abuse. We can suspend or terminate accounts that do — usually without warning if it's clear-cut.
5. Billing
- Free is free. No card required, no surprise charges.
- Pro is $19/month, auto-renewing monthly through Stripe (credit card or Cash App Pay).
- Refunds: full refund within 7 days of your first Pro charge — just email us. After that, no refunds for partial months, but you can cancel anytime and keep Pro through the end of the cycle.
- Failed payments give you a 7-day grace period before the account drops back to Free.
- Price changes get 30 days' notice by email.
6. Service Availability
We target 99% uptime on Pro and best-effort on Free. There's no formal SLA on either tier. Maintenance windows happen; we'll announce planned downtime in advance when we can.
7. Your Content, Our Software
You own the chat content that flows through your sites. We don't claim any rights to it. You grant us a limited license to store and process it so we can deliver the service — that's it. We own the 247ch.at software, the relay infrastructure, and the desktop app. The visitor-facing widget snippet (widget.js / widget.css) is published under the MIT license and you're welcome to fork it.
8. Text Messaging (SMS) Program
247ch.at operates opt-in SMS programs for (a) operator notifications — pinging account owners when a visitor starts a chat or leaves an offline message; (b) account security — two-factor codes, login alerts, password resets; and (c) visitor-side delivery on operator-configured chat widgets, where end-visitors opt in to receive replies by SMS instead of waiting in the browser. This is the most SMS-heavy service we operate; the program is designed around explicit consent and easy opt-out.
8.1 Consent & Opt-In
You only receive SMS messages from 247ch.at after you affirmatively opt in by (a) checking an SMS opt-in box during signup, dashboard settings, or widget configuration; (b) texting a keyword such as JOIN or START to our short code or long-code number; or (c) for visitor-side chats, by entering your mobile number into a chat widget and confirming you want replies by text. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase. We retain a record of when, how, and for what purpose you opted in.
8.2 Message Types & Frequency
Message frequency varies based on chat volume. Operators on busy sites may receive many notifications per day; operators on quiet sites may receive none. Visitors typically receive a few messages per active conversation. Account-security and password messages are transactional and sent only when triggered by your action. Typical promotional frequency is no more than 4 messages per month.
8.3 Message & Data Rates
Msg & data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier may charge you for sending and receiving text messages. 247ch.at is not responsible for carrier charges.
8.4 HELP and STOP Keywords
For help at any time, reply HELP to any 247ch.at message, email support@247ch.at, or visit 247ch.at.
To opt out at any time, reply STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to any 247ch.at message. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further marketing or notification messages from that program. You may continue to receive transactional messages where required by law (for example, a one-time password you requested or a billing receipt).
8.5 No Sale or Sharing of Opt-In Data
247ch.at does not sell, rent, lease, share, or otherwise disclose your SMS opt-in information (your phone number and the fact that you consented to receive text messages) to any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data is shared only with our messaging service provider (currently Twilio) as needed to deliver the messages you requested. This applies equally to operator phone numbers and to visitor phone numbers collected through chat widgets. See Privacy Policy for full data handling.
8.6 Supported Carriers
The SMS program is available on most major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost, MetroPCS, Cricket, and Virgin Mobile. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Email Communications (CAN-SPAM)
If you subscribe to our email list, every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link (/optout) and our physical mailing address. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing support@247ch.at. Transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts, offline-message pings) will continue regardless of marketing preferences.
10. Account Suspension
We can suspend or close accounts for abuse, payment fraud, or violating these terms. If your account is closed for non-abuse reasons (you cancel, we shut down) you get 30 days to export your data before it's deleted.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is." We don't warrant uninterrupted delivery, AI accuracy, or that any specific message will reach you in a specific time. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the prior 12 months.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify 247ch.at against claims arising from your violation of these Terms, your user content, or your misuse of the Services.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page (with a new effective date) and, for users with accounts, by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that counts as acceptance.
